March Madness

The Matted Doodle had an exciting February! We finished all of the major projects geared towards opening our studio space in South City, St. Louis. This included the beautiful mural of dogs and St. Louis landmarks designed and painted by Kristin Murphy; you may even recognize some of the dogs who were painted!

We had a successful grand opening event on February 19th with a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the official opening of The Matted Doodle grooming studio. Sugar and Slice on Main Street provided the treats, Beverly from the Women's Business Center said some beautifully kind words about my journey, and Jess the photographer was on hand to help me document the occasion.

Even with all of that wrapped up, The Matted Doodle has been busier than ever. The Matted Doodle now has over 100 Best Furry Friends!!! This is an achievement that truly humbles me. I know every one of my BFF's names, what they like or don't like, and I love them all. To get to know your pets in the studio where they feel safe and loved, means I get to see their personalities shine -- this is something I didn't know was possible the first 12 years spent grooming in chaotic salons. Thank you for continuing to trust and champion my mission of making grooming an experience filled with compassion and kindness. Working with these pets is truly a pleasure.

My husband Todd has accepted the position as my scheduler and receptionist. These last two weeks Todd has stepped into this new role with The Matted Doodle to help with booking appointments and managing client communications so that I can focus on grooming and loving on my fur friends! Todd will also be streamlining client communications and leading the launch of the online booking portal that is in the works.
