Hello and welcome to The Matted Doodle blog!

This blog will hopefully be a useful resource for my regular clients and pet parents everywhere who may be looking for tips and tricks on pet care. Through all the years and all the different roles I’ve played in the animal care industry, I’m excited to have a place to connect with pet parents and share some of the things I’ve learned.

To start, here’s a little bit about myself. My name is Maggie and I am a certified professional pet groomer. I live in Maplewood, Missouri with my husband Todd, my two kids Finn and Charlotte and my bichon Peter.

I have always felt a strong bond to pets and animals growing up and quickly followed my passion for animal caregiving. When I was thirteen, I got my first job at LeRoy Veterinary Clinic as a kennel technician. In 2006 I began my career as a professional pet groomer which led me to become a veterinary technician. After spending my entire life studying and training to take the best possible care of animals in various situations; I found one of my favorite parts is sharing my passion with others and getting to know the pets and the people who love them.

The Matted Doodle blog will not only provide information on grooming and other pet care topics but I will also use this space as a place to post updates on the business and other noteworthy events in my life as a groomer and business owner. This last year has been a true test of my endurance, grit and even my reasons behind why I do what I do. Now I’m going into 2022 with clear eyes and a full heart.
